It was made in 643
A.D. There are certain national treasures in the temple.
Attached to the temple is a pagoda, thought to be built
about 7 years after the temple itself. In the top of the
pagoda is certain Buddhist relics including the cremated
remains of monks and religious bracelects and some books
and so on.
There is a legend about a Buddhist monk who travelled
to China to meditate. On his return to Korea he was
passing though the west sea and he met the Hing of the
West Sea ( Kind of a God ). The Sea King was thouched
by the monks faith and gave the monk " Agants ".
The monk used this rock to build the Pagoda.
A long time ago fresh water fish " Salmontrout
" used to live in Jeong Am Temple. The fish lived
in cold fresh water and was nocturnal but can no longer
be found in there.
Just on the night side of Jeong Am Temple is Mt. Ham
Baek. There is a 3 hours hiking trail there that many
people enjoy. On the mountain are you here and white
birches.
