Tombs in Bukpyongmyoun

These tombs, made during Japanese colonization, are located in Nampyongri, Jeongseongoon. On September 8 1908, about 50 Korean troops, led by Mr Kangnyoun Lee, passed by Nampyongri, Bukmyoun. In that place were some concealed Japanese troops, waiting in ambush. As the Koreans approached, the Japanese soldiers attacked and killed many Koreans. These tombs are the tombs of the victims of that ambush.
