History
Legend saysin this area, monks used to sell models of a Buddhist temple called
" Hwa Pyo Sa ( Hwa Pyo Temple ) " One monk, who sold such doels , died and was buried. After he was buried a pine tree started growing on his tomb, and can still be found there today. It's said that if you pray sincerely, the monk's ghost will appear to you in your dream. This tree is like a guardian for this town. People estimate this tree is about 1,300 years old. In 1996 this tree was opened to the public as an exhibit, after a protective fence had been erected about it.
